K9-11 DOG BEHAVIOR TRAINING IN MARYLAND AND PENNSYLVANIA
Coeur d' Lion also offers our exclusive K9-11 Dog Behavior Training for Maryland and Pennsylvania owners experiencing difficult or AT-RISK dog behavior problems, like aggression,separation anxiety destructive behavior, crate training and housebreaking. Although it is generally accepted that the vast majority of these problems are readily and quickly addressed through traditional obedience training, often an owner is unable to recognize a potential problem, nor are they capable of correcting the problem once it begins.
Our dog behavior counseling sessions are specifically designed to evaluate the existence of behavior problems and the likelihood for their resolution through a relevant dog training program. These counseling sessions are "stand-alone" services and are information rich. It is suggested that owners who request a dog behavior counseling session videotape the consult, so as to capture all of the information presented for further discussion, reference and clarity.
A dog behavior consult is not a precursor to any of Coeur d' Lion's dog training programs, it is a "stand-alone" service where specific dog problems are identified and addressed. Resolutions are provided within the capacity of Coeur d' Lion to do so.
Dog Behavior Consultations Currently Offered:
These issues reflect the top 4 dog behavior problems are surrendered to shelters or abandoned to their fates on the streets to be picked up by Animal Control. These highly specific consults are designed to impart the necessary skills to owners with dogs that may be demonstrating these behaviors or to avoid them in the future. Coeur d'Lion's Dog Behavior consults are designed to provide relevant information to avert, interrupt and resolve at-risk dog behavior and are not a pre-requisite to any of the training programs offered. The fees for Behavior Consults are seperate from any training program offered by Coeur d'Lion.
HOUSEBREAKING 9-11: Strongly advised for the firt-time puppy owner or for recent adult adoptees. Although the focus is primarily housebreaking issues, it also addresses proper management, feeding and excersize protocols for any age or breed of dog. Average consult duration exceeds 2 hours and all family members are required to attend.
DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR 9-11: Specifically addresses the dog who destroys property other than his toys, including chewing and digging. Successfully incorporates the appropriate uses of a crate during the training process with the ultimate goal being freedom for the dog and peace-of-mind for the owners! Average consult duration exceeds 2 hours and all family members are required to attend.
SEPERATION ANXIETY 9-11: Includes noise phobias and other anxieties associated with the departure or absence of the owners, while crated or at large in the owners home. Highly successful and sought-after information compiled in a concise and salient format. Consult duration is often longer than 2 hours and all family members are required to attend.
AGGRESSION 9-11: The Consultation for aggression is used specifically to ascertain the type of aggression and to determine the feasability of a training protocol for the individual dog. Training of aggressive dogs, whether the owner is experiencing dog-to-dog aggression or aggression to humans is often mis-categorized and mis-understood. This is an evaluation based on experience with dogs classified as 'aggressive'. Whether is is based on a defensive, fear component or offensive, overt aggression; the underlying reasons are usually always misinterpreted by the owner. The Aggression 9-11 Behavior Consult is a realistic approach to definitive answers and solutions for your dogs' aggressive behavior. Learn how to manage your dog correctly and safely and learn the tactics necessary to achieve alternatives to his aggression. Highly effective for the owner committed to resolving these issues. Consult duration often exceeds 3 hours, all family members must be present.
